Rising Stars of Research and Scholarship

Nominations close: 30 November 2026

Sigma’s Rising Stars of Research and Scholarship program provides nursing students and recent graduates with the opportunity to showcase their research, evidence-based practice project, or literature review as a poster presentation at the 38th International Nursing Research Congress in Dublin, Ireland.

The program is designed to highlight the work of emerging nurse scholars and give them the opportunity to share their work, gain presentation experience, and connect with nursing professionals and colleagues from around the world.

Each nursing school campus may nominate up to three undergraduate, master’s, or doctoral students. Nominees must either be currently enrolled at the time of nomination or have graduated within the previous six months. Students do not need to be Sigma members, and the school does not need to have a Sigma chapter.

Once an eligible student is nominated, they are automatically accepted as a Rising Star poster presenter. After the nomination form is submitted, the student will receive an email from Sigma with a link and instructions to submit their abstract through the online submission system.

Students are responsible for the costs associated with attending Congress, including registration, travel, and accommodations. These expenses may be covered by the student, their school, or their Sigma chapter. Sigma offers a discounted student registration rate for eligible participants.
